Paul Richardson

Interim Vice President

Paul Richardson has over 19 years of experience in development, philanthropy, communications, operations, and board development, and currently serves as interim vice president of Dignity Health Foundation and president for Sequoia Hospital Foundation in Redwood City, California.

In his role as president, Mr. Richardson oversees all philanthropic giving in support of Sequoia Hospital, as well as the day-to-day operations for the foundation. He also serves as a senior member of the hospital leadership team and on several corporate-wide committees at Dignity Health. 

Prior to joining Sequoia Hospital, Mr. Richardson served 6.5 years at the Dignity Health Corporate Offices in San Francisco, California as the director of philanthropy. In this role, he supervised all philanthropic giving to the corporate offices, as well as managed all professional development and philanthropic impact communications across Dignity Health Philanthropy. 

Mr. Richardson holds a master’s degree in education from Kent State University in Kent, Ohio, as well as bachelor’s degree in music and music education from Bluffton University in Bluffton, Ohio. He also lived aboard studying the conflict in Northern Ireland at the University of Ulster in Londonderry. He is an avid lover of music, sports, and passionate about social justice and equality.
